Mike Hayden was the forty-first governor of Kansas, between 1987-1991. Hayden was a Republican. He was born on March 15, 1944 in Colby, Kansas and raised in Atwood, Kansas. He was a graduate of Kansas State University in wildlife conservation, 1966, and a graduate of Fort Hays State University in biology, 1974.
